Policy outline
Combi Boiler Prices is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us, including the right to object to processing based on ‘legitimate interests’.
Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data.
How to Reach Our Data Protection Officer
To contact Combi Boiler Prices’ Data Protection Officer regarding our processing of your personal data, email privacy@combiboilerprices.co.uk.
How our website works
Our website ‘www.combiboilerprices.co.uk’ offers you the ability to request quotes for the services advertised.
Once your quote request has been received (captured by our web forms over a secure HTTPS connection) we’ll then pass this information to our partners who will contact you directly to confirm your details and requirements.
Should you wish to proceed then our partners will connect you to relevant service providers who will supply you with your requested quotes (via phone, email or text/SMS) – please note there is no obligation to buy.
Collecting Your Personal Information
We collect personal data that you provide to us e.g. when you fill in our web forms and request quotes from us.
The data is limited to your contact information and the particulars of your quote request:
First name
Surname
Email
Postcode
Phone number
Work type
Type of Combi Boiler
Number of Bedrooms
Number of Bathrooms
Our web forms may change from time to time, but the information we require will always be explicitly expressed and legitimately relevant to your request for quotes.
Our Legitimate Interests
For each of the following purposes, we have conducted a legitimate interest assessment (LIA) to ensure that such processing isn’t overridden by your rights or interests.
‘Quote Request Service’:
When you request quotes from us we ask you to fill in our web form with your personal information and quote particulars (please see ‘Collecting Your Personal Information’).
Once your quote request has been received we then disclose your personal data to our partners (securely and encrypted over HTTPS), who may contact you regarding your quote request by call, email and SMS.
Your details will only be used by our partners to connect you to the relevant services advertised during the quote process.
These activities require that we process your personal details; they help our partners to locate local service providers, provide better quote accuracy and ultimately deliver our ‘quote request service’ to you.
Email Marketing
If you have used our ‘quote request service’ in the past then as an existing customer we would like to send you emails about similar products or services from our partners/affiliates, that we feel maybe of interest.
*We will only send you email marketing if you have specifically supplied consent, by ticking an ‘opt-in’ box on our web forms – and when we feel we have a legitimate interest to do so.
If you would no longer like to receive such e-mails from us, please follow the “Unsubscribe” instructions at the end of each email or contact us. Your e-mail address will be removed from our marketing list.
We use ‘legitimate interest’ as the lawful basis for processing personal data for Email Marketing.
Retargeting
We like to work with Facebook to reach out to our audience with adverts, we may use the platform to display ads to our current audience or to reach out to a similar audience who we may feel be interested in our services/products.
To achieve this we use our current audience base (users who’ve used our service in the past) to display similar adverts that maybe of interest – all data used is pseudonymised meaning none of our users are directly identifiable.
We also use our pre-exiting user base to target ‘lookalike’ audiences, this is where Facebook uses our pseudonymised data to show adverts to audiences with similar characteristics.
Ads
Some of the web pages on our website display ads from the Google Ad Network or from our partners – should we choose to promote their services to you.
Displaying ads allows us to earn a small amount in commission – which helps to support with the on-going costs of our website.
Our advertising partners include:
- WarmZilla.
- Google Adwords.
We carefully manage and vet the adverts that we display – making sure they meet our standards and do not tarnish the overall browsing experience of our website.
Please visit Google’s support page link opens in a new window for more information on how to manage or remove any unwanted ads from your browser.
Do you transfer data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA)?
No. The data which we collect from you and share with our partners is transferred and stored in the UK only.
Security of your Personal Information
While no website can guarantee exhaustive security, we do maintain appropriate electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information collected via the website. We protect our databases with various physical, technical and procedural measures and we restrict access to your information by unauthorised persons.
Keeping Your Data
We have a data retention policy which states how long we retain your data and our reasons for doing so.
Quote Request Service:
We store you data for six months after you submit your initial quote request, we do this to resolve any queries we may have with our partners should they arise.
Once the six month period has lapsed we will remove your data from our systems.
